Based on our customers demand we have developed a new version of our music scheduling system. Most of the music scheduling systems create palylists based on the number of available songs for a given position, and tries to comply with the play pattern according to predefined rules. Any time you change the number of songs in any categories the delicate balance of play patterns could overturn. So NAUTILUS introduced the play-pattern based scheduling. This means that you can predefine a play pattern for each song, and this pattern will not change by the number of available songs. Naturally we also use the rules for creating a better show, but our scheduling could be more effective, because the play-pattern makes  sure, that rules like distance from yesterday's play, and the likes have already been fulfilled by the play-pattern, so other rules could be more effective. The rigid definition of a category for one slot was never a part of NAUTILUS DJ, instead we always used folders for each slot around the clock. For each folder you can define any of the availble categories ensuring a more versatile show. Using the play pattern it is possible to differentiate between  songs even in the same category. (e.g. TOP 5 songs heavier rotation...) This method is equally useful for stations with different formats even with TOP 40 stations with 1,5 hour rotation pattern.
